Pyramidesalt is for those who enjoy good, classic liquorice with a little extra surprise.
It is a sweet and soft liquorice, topped with delicate flakes of sea salt. This creates a delicious contrast between the sweet liquorice and the little salty crunch on top.
The liquorice also contains salmiak, but Pyramidesalt is not a salty liquorice. The salmiak is added to give the liquorice flavour more depth and richness, allowing the classic taste of liquorice to stand out even more clearly.
The result is a soft and sweet liquorice with a fine balance of sweetness, deep liquorice flavour and a touch of sea salt.
What makes Pyramidesalt special is the contrast.
The liquorice itself is sweet and soft, while the flakes of sea salt on top provide little bursts of saltiness when you bite into the liquorice.
This is not a liquorice where the salt takes over the flavour. On the contrary, the sweet liquorice remains at the centre, while the sea salt gives it a little extra lift.
The salmiak has a completely different purpose. It helps make the liquorice flavour deeper and richer without turning Pyramidesalt into a strong salmiak or salty liquorice.
At Solrød Lakrids we make our liquorice locally with a focus on good raw materials and good craftsmanship.
We like liquorice with its own personality, and Pyramidesalt is a perfect example.
Here, the soft, sweet liquorice meets crisp flakes of sea salt, while the salmiak gives the flavour extra depth.
It is a simple combination, but it works really well.
It's Made in Denmark – Made in Solrød.

And be careful – it can be difficult to have just one.
Pyramidesalt is first and foremost a sweet liquorice..
The deep liquorice flavour comes partly from the raw liquorice, while the salmiak helps support and enhance the liquorice flavour.
On top are flakes of sea salt, which create a completely different experience. The small salt flakes add both flavour and texture, creating a lovely contrast to the soft liquorice.
It is precisely the combination of these three elements – sweet liquorice, depth from salmiak and flakes of sea salt – that makes Pyramidesalt something special.
To preserve the good taste and soft texture, we recommend that Pyramidesalt is stored dry and not too warm.
That way, it is ready for the next time you're in the mood for some good liquorice.
Yes. We want to take care of what we love, which is why we don't use palm oil.

No. Pyramidesalt is a sweet liquorice. with flakes of sea salt. It contains salmiak, but the salmiak is added to give the liquorice flavour more depth and richness – not to turn it into a salty liquorice.
No, not like a traditional salty liquorice. The liquorice itself is sweet, while the sea salt on top creates small salty contrasts to the sweet liquorice.
The salmiak helps give the liquorice flavour more depth and richness. In other words, it is not primarily added to create a strong salmiak flavour.
Yes. Pyramidesalt has a soft texture, which together with the sea salt flakes creates a delicious combination of soft liquorice and small, crisp, salty contrasts.
Pyramid salt is an unrefined salt made by evaporating salt water in large, open iron pans over an open fire. The water simmers in the large pans until it evaporates and the salt forms into crystals. The method dates all the way back to the Middle Ages, when salt making was a major industry. The salt flakes resemble small pyramids – hence the name “Pyramidesalt”.
